The welcome email is a one-time communication that outlines the types of alerts and updates you'll receive as a Direct Energy customer. These alerts and usage summaries give you insight to help you better manage your usage and make informed choices, plus tips on how you could save energy and money.

You'll receive a usage summary every month around the midpoint of your billing cycle.

You'll receive a usage summary around the midpoint of your billing cycle, showing how much energy you've used so far, how much you're forecasted to use for the remainder of the billing period and how much we estimate your next bill will be. You'll also see tips and tricks on how to use less energy.

High-usage alerts notify you if you've used more energy than normal. These alerts help you stay aware of high usage so you can proactively reduce your use and save money on your bill.

You'll receive a high-usage alert when you've used more energy than you normally do. We closely monitor your usage to determine your normal and high usage levels. High usage could be due to extreme weather or unique events such as hosting a party or a family member staying home from work or school

We closely monitor your usage to get a baseline for your normal usage amount. We define high usage as at least 50% over your normal usage.

No. We will not alert you of high usage more than twice a week. If your usage is still higher than normal the following week, we'll let you know so you can stay proactive.

Your AC and furnace are two of the biggest energy users in your home, and the weather outside affects how hard they have to work to keep your home comfortable. We include weather forecasts in your high-usage alerts so you can take proactive steps to save energy when you experience extreme weather.
